Merrick era el hombre elefante. Pero ya se lo dice una actriz de teatro: T\u00fa no eres el hombre elefante, t\u00fa eres un Romeo. Porque Merrick es un hombre bueno incapaz de guardar un solo gramo de odio o rencor. S\u00f3lo quiere ser feliz. Leer tranquilo. Tener su propio cuarto. Construir e imaginar una catedral. Reunirse con amigos, educadamente. Tener su propio neceser. Poner, con el cuidado y respeto debido, fotograf\u00edas de sus conocidos. Guardar con gran cari\u00f1o el retrato de su madre. Vestir con elegancia. Ir al teatro y so\u00f1ar. Ser agradecido con los que son amables y cari\u00f1osos. Charlar amigablemente. Y ans\u00eda poder dormir como todos los seres humanos: tumbado horizontalmente. No quiere mirarse en un espejo.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"ecmsonormal\"><span><\/span><span>Y a pesar de la crueldad de los seres humanos ante lo desconocido y monstruoso. A pesar de la frialdad de otros. A pesar de la ignorancia de muchos. A pesar del dolor que le infringen los otros, los que le ven distinto, los que le ven monstruo. A pesar de que le explotan y maltratan\u2026 John Merrick es un hombre digno, un ser humano digno, un hombre sin un \u00e1pice de odio. Educado, inteligente y de sensibilidad extrema. Un hombre que cree en la bondad del otro.
