Se convierten en espectadores&#8230;, pero Tucker est\u00e1 inquieto y triste, se siente extra\u00f1o, \u00e9l quiere protagonizar su propia pel\u00edcula, y no quiere parar. Robert Redford ha tenido un especial cuidado durante toda su carrera tanto en la elecci\u00f3n de proyectos como en la evoluci\u00f3n de su personaje cinematogr\u00e1fico, de esta manera ha sabido escoger y preparar la pel\u00edcula que ha elegido para despedirse de la pantalla de cine (no obstante es tambi\u00e9n el productor). En la direcci\u00f3n est\u00e1 David Lowery, que ya en <i>Un lugar sin ley<\/i> dejaba intuir las huellas en su cine de directores del Nuevo Hollywood en los a\u00f1os setenta como Terrence Malick o Robert Altman en <i>Los vividores<\/i>. La historia elegida surge de la prensa: un grupo de ancianos que son atracadores de bancos y cuyo l\u00edder Forrest Tucker ha sido un esp\u00edritu libre toda su vida. Su ruta ha sido ser perseguido por la ley, entrar en prisi\u00f3n, fugarse una y otra vez y volver a delinquir. As\u00ed <i>The old man and the gun<\/i> ofrece puro cine cl\u00e1sico con aire crepuscular y desencantado del cine de los setenta.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><!--more--><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" align=\"justify\">Por eso como compa\u00f1era de aventuras la elegida es una maravillosa Sissy Spacek, musa del cine del Nuevo Hollywood. Y de las nuevas generaciones, David Lowery sigue trabajando con su actor fetiche: Casey Affleck. Los compa\u00f1eros de andanzas de Robert Redford son dos pesos pesados como Danny Glover y Tom Waits. Una vez que el reparto est\u00e1 preparado, el espectador puede deleitarse con momentos de puro cine cl\u00e1sico y con todo un homenaje al h\u00e9roe independiente, libre y rom\u00e1ntico que ha alimentado Robert Redford durante a\u00f1os. Con 82 a\u00f1os sigue encarnando como nadie ese tipo de h\u00e9roe: con su forma de moverse, besar a su compa\u00f1era y esa sonrisa que ha mantenido durante d\u00e9cadas.<\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" align=\"justify\"><i>The old man and the gun <\/i>es un goce de despedida y homenaje, a pesar de que no es una historia redonda e incluso hay personajes secundarios poco aprovechados, pero incluso en su imperfecci\u00f3n rezuma encanto. Adem\u00e1s Robert Redford deja claro su modelo de historia rom\u00e1ntica como tantas veces ha hecho. Sus h\u00e9roes ponen en primer lugar su libertad, de tal manera que aunque tienen capacidad de amar terminan qued\u00e1ndose solos o no comprometi\u00e9ndose con la mujer de su vida, a no ser que antes se los lleve la muerte o pase antes una desgracia (<i>El jinete el\u00e9ctrico, Tal como \u00e9ramos, Las aventuras de Jeremiah Johnson, Memorias de \u00c1frica<\/i>&#8230;). Y tambi\u00e9n ofrece al h\u00e9roe comprometido con su causa, apasionado por lo que hace&#8230;, como en este caso, ser atracador de bancos. Hay un momento en la pel\u00edcula en que se hace un repaso a la carrera delictiva del personaje, y se tira de las im\u00e1genes de archivo de Robert Redford ofreciendo el paso de los a\u00f1os en su rostro, incluso se recuperan secuencias de pel\u00edculas de su pasado, donde su personaje andaba huyendo o encerrado (como <i>Brubaker<\/i> o <i>La jaur\u00eda humana<\/i>).<\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" align=\"justify\"><i>The old man and the gun<\/i> tira de la estructura de perseguidor y perseguido, que van forjando adem\u00e1s una curiosa complicidad entre ambos. Es decir, entre el atracador anciano y el joven polic\u00eda (Casey Affleck), tambi\u00e9n apasionado con su carrera, pero que ha optado por formar tambi\u00e9n una familia. Y la culminaci\u00f3n de esta relaci\u00f3n llega en una elegante secuencia en los cuartos de ba\u00f1o de un local, donde el personaje de Redford es como una aparici\u00f3n, como una leyenda. Pero Lowery tambi\u00e9n marca su clasicismo y elegancia en la filmaci\u00f3n de la crepuscular y bonita historia de amor con gotas de melancol\u00eda e imposibilidad entre Robert Redford y Sissy Spacek.<\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" align=\"justify\">No hay duda, <i>The old man and the gun<\/i> es una buena despedida.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Esta obra est\u00e1 bajo una\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/creativecommons.org\/licenses\/by-nc-nd\/3.0\/es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">licencia de Creative Commons<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Durante una secuencia, la pareja protagonista, Forrest Tucker (Robert Redford) y Jewel (Sissy Spacek), va al cine.
